Thomas Mars of Phoenix singing in the crowd during the encore to their show at The Garden. He popped up just a couple of rows in front of us and I like how this photo came out with him in focus in the foreground.
I think this was without a doubt the biggest show of these guys career to date and they pulled out all the stops, with some moves borrowed from the pages of other modern stadium rock icons like U2 and Coldplay - lots of intimate pop-ups in the crowd to connect with the audience and an amazing surprise guest (Daft Punk).
