Jeff Beck - “Cause We’ve Ended As Lovers” - Blow By Blow. Penned by Stevie Wonder as an homage to his ex-wife Syreeta, this recording is signature Jeff Beck (Stevie also wrote “Thelonious Funk” off the same album). I was reminded of this while watching his live 2007 performance at Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club in London with special guests Joss Stone, Imogen Heap and Eric Clapton. There is no question who is king among the Yardbirds guitar alumni: Beck, Page then Clapton, in that order.
