“ When I was a little kid, if you liked someone, you called them up and left a message at their house…and that was about it. And if they didn’t call you back, you’d say, Well, maybe they didn’t get home until late? It was much more about excuses. But now, there’s this illusion of accessibility; anybody is at your fingertips at any point. But in reality, [I think] people are just as inaccessible as ever. [The difference is that now] you have to confront it more. The reality is: “They must just not like me if they’re not calling me back. ”
