Billy Joel’s “Last Play at Shea”
I’ll admit I’m a fan of Billy Joel. Something about his music defines the city for a certain period of time and a certain kind of person. The working class appeal of his music always connected with me.
The tickets were a gift from my ex-girlfriend Danielle and it was a concert that I’ll never forget in all of its cheesy glory. I told my friend Anthony after it was like a middle age woodstock for white people. Everyone in the crowd was so happy. Most of the people in our section hugged at least once. He apologized to the crowd that it wasn’t actually the “Last Play” because he added a second show, but I preferred the guests he had this night.
