Avis will rent out Renault electric vehicles starting in 2011
For those in Europe that want to try out life with a battery electric car but aren’t necessarily ready to commit full time, Avis may have just the deal for you. The Renault-Nissan alliance has made the biggest commitment to electric vehicles of any automaker. Starting in 2011, Avis will be making Renault electric vehicles available for rent through its outlets in Europe as part of its green fleet (see more on this green fleet here).
Renault will introduce four electric vehicles between late 2010 and 2012, including the Fluence sedan (above) and Kangoo MPV. Avis has not announced what the pricing model will be for the EVs or even which vehicles will be available. Given the limitations of electric vehicles, renting one for several days would seem like a good way for potential customers to evaluate the option.
A fantastic song. A great band. But even in this video my issue with Phoenix comes through. When I saw them on their last US tour they were one of the most boring bands I’d ever seen. Watching this video, it still kind of rings true. Thomas Mars just has no energy as a lead singer. Amazing voice, great song writer. But goodness mate, try to look like you’re enjoying yourself a little. At the end of the day, Jagger’s swagger is the reason the Stones are legends and I wonder if that will hurt their staying power.

Phoenix perform “1901” live on KRCW
My Grandfather Elmer was in the Navy and was on a submarine during World War II. I remember visiting Pearl Harbor with him and hearing him tell the story about being sent out soon after that. He is on the far left in this photo. It could be a film still from South Pacific. He looks so serious. Its a strange photo to me because growing up I can never remember a time when he wasn’t smiling and joking with people. He filled up the room with positive energy.
Aurora’s villa in St John’s. You can see the solar panel station near the left front of the house. It powers every aspect of the home and allows it to remain completely off the grid. Every direction is an ocean view.
