“In 1950, at age 18, Oscar heads to Spain to study painting at the Academy of San Fernando in Madrid. While living there, he becomes captivated by Spanish culture, from the music and art, to the bullfights and flamenco, to of course…the fashion.
Oscar’s interest in the world of design grows and he begins sketching for Spain’s leading fashion houses. He soon lands a coveted apprenticeship with Spain’s most renowned couturier, Cristóbal Balenciaga. Working there, Oscar becomes immersed in his craft – observing the sample rooms, studying the clothes, learning the techniques.”

Christo - Wrapped Snoopy House
In 1978, Charles M. Schulz drew an episode of his comic strip Peanuts in which Snoopy’s doghouse is wrapped in fabric by Christo. In response, Christo constructed a wrapped doghouse and presented it to the Charles M. Schulz Museum in 2003.
Meticulous found-wood sculpture/painting at the Ambach & Rice booth at NADA.
Larry Bell at Art Basel 2009, Miami, FL. I dug the works I saw at the NADA show from this Southwest artist.
Loving Wayne White’s work even more after seeing some newer work at the NADA show in Miami. Looking forward to checking out the Drawing Room opening at Mireille Mosler next week.
What the fu%* happened to Dame Dash? I understand he’s working on this whole “reinvention” thing but when did the guy who used to be one of the toughest guys in hip-hop turn into a hipster? The businessman behind Roc-A-Fella and Roc-A-Wear looks like Erkel and Cobrasnake had a love child in this photo.
All that being said…his new label put out BlakRoc from the Black Keys, which is a great first album for an upstart label and from what I hear from the people I know who know him, he’s as dedicated as ever to getting back on top.

With Dame Dash & Raq-Steady in his new DD172 gallery/studio/TV channel/magazine headquarters last night. The Cool Kids & Nicole Wray (‘member her from that ‘98 hit entitled “Make It Hot” with Timbaland & Missy?!) were jamming in the studio for BlacRoc 2.
