But his masterpiece, a handwritten, 25,000 word, multi-dialect dictionary containing the oldest and most obscure words in the Romani language remains largely unknown. Seeing the trip to Paris as an opportunity to have the dictionary published, he gathers up the amassed pages of his life’s work and heads to France to save the legacy of the dying Romani language.

A cool new series launched today about my buddy Mr. Rubino. One of the most talented and genuinely good doods you’ll encounter out there. This is great and well worth getting through all 12 vignettes.
“Over the span of one year filmmaker Jim Helton documented New York-based artist Chris Rubino while he searched for a new direction in his work. In the process we see screenprinting, drawing, painting, wandering as well as a peak inside the workings of a studio and an artist’s process. The final 12 part film that is Love Kills Demons takes a look behind the proverbial curtain exposing some of the mystery of creation supported by the otherworldly sounds of Big Blood.”

This looks great…
“Sweetgrass presents a riveting and poetic portrait of the American West just as one of its traditional ways of life dies out. Shot amidst the grandeur of Montana’s Absaroka-Beartooth Wilderness, the film follows the last modern-day cowboys to lead their flocks of sheep up into the breathtaking and often dangerous mountains for summer pasture. An Official Selection of the 2010 New York Film Festival.

My friend Soraya put together a nice series of videos for her talk at the 99% Conference on E-Dentity. For the videos she talked to a bunch of people in various industries about the issue, including me, and I think the videos came out great. They were directed and produced by the talented Ms. Jessica Brillhart.
You can see all of the videos here

A truly masterful trailer. Considering the mass awareness of this story…I’m not sure they could have done it any better. It gives away nothing…while making you want to run to the theater to see it. The Reznor-Karen O cover of Immigrant Song is sick.

Truly beautiful. You can only hope this video allows them to live as they have…in peace, and untainted by the modern world.
Amazing video with a capital “F”. Watch it.
