Effie Awards

So this year, once again, I have the privilege of serving as a judge for the Effie Awards. Last year I served on the grand jury. I love the Effies because it’s all about effectiveness. It’s not a creative awards show, it’s about proving that the money you spent actually made an impact. With METRICS. As the guy here who typically has to establish or defend the business case of our work to our clients, I eat this up. It’s a hella detailed entry process too. Like it’s not just “submit a URL.” You have to talk about the environment, challenges, approach, impact. It’s basically like a super-detailed case study. This, to me, makes the Effies more prestigious of a win, and unlike other awards shows.
If you’re in the biz, and you’ve done something with proven results, you should think about entering. And after judging, I can tell you that this one’s not all about just the big guys. Any compelling story has a fighting chance to win!
