As a follow up to Daft Punk announcing a tour and the Gaga video, my friends Thomas and Max just passed this along to me. A damn good remix from Leeds producer Grum. If only there were still good places to dance in NYC…

Roctakon on AM
Whenever a “celebrity” passes, especially these days, there is an outpouring of affection. Twitter and Facebook build a wave of digital condolences that are generally from people who didn’t know the person. I’m guilty of throwing my two cents in as special talents have passed suddenly this year. Its a way to show respect and admiration even if you didn’t know them personally.
DJ AM felt different for some reason. Only because if you’re around my age you probably saw him DJ a few times and if you lived in NYC and hung in certain circles there was a good chance you had a friend who knew Adam.
Andy or DJ Roctakon as he’s known by most, worked with my close friends at the Turntable Lab and has been a part of their extended family for a while. I’ve always gotten along well with him and respected his talent and work ethic. He spun at a few events I threw years ago when he was just starting to make his name in the industry and he was always professional and ALWAYS created a sick party.
Over the years as he got bigger he became friends with AM and I thought I would share his personal thoughts on his passing as my final word on it.
